Lousy Valentines Day Contest

Half way through the month already... wow, where has the time gone?

As you might have guessed, we've got anther contest starting now, but first your monthly prompt reminder:

December Feature, January PromptDecember Feature, "Candlelight"

Happy New Year everybody!
I hope last year went out with a bang and the new one is full of fun!
As you can see we had some colorful entries for the December prompt, although going by what the majority of you wanted for the next prompt we're not going to to see color for awhile.  That's right, January's prompt is....
"Black and White"
Thanks to everyone who voted. I was surprised by how many people wanted this prompt, so I hope we see plenty of entries this month!
For those new to the group we run a monthly prompt. You're job is to create a deviation (a drawing, a poem, a sculpture or anything else you can think of) based on the prompt and at least vaguely related to Vampirates. You can interpret the prompt in any way you wish, it doesn't have to be literal.

A while ago some of you gave me feedback on how you'd like the group's contests to be run, so you're going to start seeing the effects of that.

Anyway, announcing:


TheNocturnals 'Lousy' Valentines Day Contest: Love Gone Wrong

Aims:
The aim of this contest is to write a short story/fanfiction, set in the Vampirates universe, around the theme "Love gone wrong"

Your story can be funny or sad or angry; the only thing we don't want to see is a sappy-happy 'wuv' story
You can write about a pairing you like or one you hate, if you feel like being cruel to them
You can give the story a uplifting/hopeful ending if you want, but remember the main idea is to look at the negative side of a relationship.  

If you're struggling for ideas you might want to consider writing about:
Unrequited love, a bad date, a tragic/doomed relationship or a day where everything just keeps going wrong.
Of course there are plenty of other things you could write about too,  be creative!

Rules:
Only written prose (specifically fanfiction) will be accepted for this contest
(i.e. no photos, no drawings, no poetry)
You're entry cannot exceed 2000 words.
Only 1 entry per person.
Admins may enter this contest.
Entries must be in English.
Try and use correct spelling/grammar
(we don't expect you to be perfect, but try and at least run it through a spell checker)
Please tag mature content and make sure you follow dA's rules at all times.
You must include at least one character from the Vampirate books, you may include OCs/FCs if you wish
Submit your entry to the group's contest folder before the deadline.

The 14th of February, 11:59:59 GMT

(Basically hand it in before Valentines day ends and you're safe)

Prizes:
The winners will be decided by vote.
In the event of a tie the points will be split equally between 2 winners.

1st: 80
2nd: 40
3rd: 20
+ All winners will be featured in the group.
